We have been spending time over at the VT Newman House with the students and dh and I were thinking that if any of you all wanted to post here with words of support and encouragement for the students, families and priests who are gathering there, then I will print them all off and bring them on over when we go over later. There are still many students who have stayed here and are making the Newman House their "base". The dining halls are closed and so many are also eating their meals there...
I know that they will appreciate knowing you all are praying and supporting them!

What a wonderful idea.
I would like to say that I am praying without ceasing for them during this terrible time. My heart aches for all they have been through. I pray the Lord will keep them all safe in the palm of His hand.

Hollee, it's so wonderful how you are helping the VT students.
We feel their loss and hurt, and are holding them all in our hearts and prayers.
And make sure you mention Our Holy Father's message:
VATICAN CITY, APR 18, 2007 (VIS) - Given below is the text of a telegram sent yesterday afternoon by Cardinal Secretary of State, Tarcisio Bertone S.D.B., in the Pope's name, to Bishop Francis Xavier DiLorenzo of Richmond, U.S.A., for the killing of 32 people in a shooting incident at a technical institute in Virginia, U.S.A.
"Deeply saddened by news of the shooting at Virginia Tech, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has asked me to convey the assurance of his heartfelt prayers for the victims, their families and for the entire school community. In the aftermath of this senseless tragedy he asks God our Father to console all those who mourn and to grant them that spiritual strength which triumphs over violence by the power of forgiveness, hope and reconciling love."
