Every couple of months I have to come to you wonderful people and bare my soul and get support and help. Hurricanes, Mental Health Crises, Public School, Adoption, Burn Out...it's been an exciting couple of years. I know that many of you have been wondering where Needy Jennifer has been lately.
I actually wanted to post that things are going Very Well right now.
Adoption-a little slow, but we still hope to have Michael home by the end of the summer.
Hurricane stuff-STILL waiting on a grant award that will clear the rest of our Katrina debt. But the award will be coming. Sometime.
My mother-Still stable in her instability. I've developed new ways to cope with her that don't involve visiting her for six weeks at a time thinking it'll be like Homecoming on Walton's Mountain.
Depression-I went on antidepressants a few months after Katrina. I went off them this weekend. The withdrawal was horrible, even after weaning dosages over an 8 week time frame. But the worst is past and I honestly feel ALIVE again. I realized that the Effexor (and this is just my opinion, in my experience) took away the sad feelings but also took away the joy. I have the joy back.
Burnout-OVER. I LOVE HAVING MY CHILDREN HOME WITH ME!!
I'm blogging, again. Link is down below in my signature. Please check it out-it's nothing special-but knowing that some people are reading it will motivate me to continue.
So, long story short, God is good.
Jennifer
