I thought of you yesterday Angela

as I saw the joy in my day .
Believe me some of us are just called to deal with heavy issues that is why it is very imporatnt we do not take ourselves to seriously and find the joy in little things . You might like Fr. Pinto's book on steps in littleness it often brings a smile to my face

Yesterday morning Indigo ds 11 sat down in the kitchen and began asking me questions after question about truffles . He then began insisting on the whys we needed a pot bellied pig the hunt for truffles being the biggest reason

I mean how can one hunt for truffles without a pig on hand . I had visions of us with a pig on a leash trying to cross the main street to get to the park

we live in the core of our city and much does go unoticed here but a pig hmmm not sure that would slip by
He then was researching truffles most of the day . He came to me and said some truffles are dusted in cocoa

I again had a vision this time of a fungus covered in chocolate I could barely keep a straight face as I know Indigo was trying to imagine what or why anyone would wish to discover the flavor of a chocolate covered fungus

We then went into the explanation of the truffle chocolate and why and how did they get the name truffles .
So our day began with hunting for truffles in France with a pot bellied pig to purchasing and eating chocolates in France
I just had to smile and Thank God for reminding me what a wonderful life we have .
Is that not the joy in little things . what it's all about . So simple so sweet why do we often want more .
well Indigo and I do want to try truffles now if we can . fungus or chocolate but preferbably not combined

Rox, that is too funny.

It's neat what kids decide to be interested in, isn't it?

You know, it is hard parenting all these small people -- and some of mine have some special needs which parenting a bit more intensive -- but recently I have had it brought into perspective: what would I do without them?

My life would be really, really empty.

Of course, I've never really questioned deep down whether it's "worth" it, you know, but it does help to be *consciously* reminded of the fact that I *like* them.
