Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

OK, frivolous thread but....... I have been using Revlon's Vital Radiance for about a year and it is being discontinued. It was marketed to a "woman of a certain age" and I'm 51. I really like it. On their website they pump some other Revlon products, but does anyone else have a recommendation? Frankly their primer was the best thing in the line, especially in the winter when my face dries out with the first time we turn on the furnace. Any suggestions for skin care and makeup when your face doesn't look 20 anymore <VBG>?

I like Mary Kay cosmetics...but quite frankly, I hardly ever wear makeup anymore (hmmm...maybe I should? LOL)

Me either. I like Mary Kay. I have also used Olay products with good results.

I wear makeup - but not a lot! I don't wear foundation every day - just now and then. And then I tend to use Cover Girl , blended with a bit of moisturiser.

Not very fancy!

Yes, I love the Vital Radiance primer, too.

I've been happy with Clinique foundation (I have very oily skin, even at this age), but it tends to be pricey.

I read in More magazine that a powder-type foundation is good for women "of a certain age".

I'm not 40 yet but getting there soon enough. Am I allowed to post?

I have very thin British-Isles, sensitive, crepey-dry skin that is aging fast, believe me! So I probably look older than most of you... .

I like Bare Escentuals makeup now and Cetaphil Moisturizer. I also have faithfully applied Vaseline of all things to my eyelids, under-eyes and eyelashes for years before I go to bed. It is the only product I can tolerate around my eyes that soothes/hydrates but doesn't sting.

I finally gave in and purchased some make-up after not wearing any for years (that lack of natural color in the face/lips was really getting to me .) I purchased some Physicians Formula Mineral Loose Powder and some lip liner and stick.

What's funny is that when I was a teen and young adult...I did the make-up thing. I found that it was like riding a bike...I'm back on like I hadn't taken a 15 year break .

Love,

I love my foundation from Arbonne. As I have aged and had more babies my skin has discolored..liver spots? don't know? I like how this feels on my skin.

I was able to try Bare Escentuals makeup for the first time recently after hearing so much about it. So many people rave about it- now I understand why. Was I really wearing makeup? It went on so easily and so fast, and didn't feel like I even had anything on my face. I really liked it.
