Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Now that I am officially able to post here...as of a few weeks ago, I have a question...

Have any of you ever been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism most specifically type II?

right now i am awaiting my cortisol tests (for my adrenals) and I am showing the symptoms for Type II Hypothyroidism and wanted to know what others may be doing for this or good questions to ask my practitioner...

Apparently, it is something I get while pregnant...it only took 10 years to figure this out...sheesh!

TIA!

Oh Donna Marie, is this the prayer request you've had this past week? About being able to find out why you feel so bad when pregnant?

I don't really know anything about it but I just wanted to say how, well not happy, but you know.. that you have something diagnosed and will be able to do something and not just suffer with it.

Dear Donna Marie,

I was diagnosed with it during this last pregnancy. But near the end, I was "normal". I didn't tolerate the drugs. Now I am going for my 6 week check-up and I will have them retest me. I am curious to see if I am still hypothyroid.

Blessings,
Stephanie

Stephanie,

How did you become 'normal'? From what I am learning, if you have an adrenal issue, that has to be treated before starting the meds for the thyroid because if you don't it won't work. The adrenals pump away, in my case, because my body makes the hormone, but doesn't use it well.

The whole trick for me now is getting the diagnosis so I can be treated better. right now I am diagnosed on symptoms which many people who are type II have to be. umm...do I make any sense? I am going to be treated gently and right now am on some vitamin support for thyroid.

Thank you so much! Yes, this is it. I figured out various related things and it helped last time I was pregnant but this is the root cause behind it all...my symptoms were all over the place when I was pregnant with Peter James 18mos ago! It even explains the difficulty swallowing, breathing, and the swollen feeling I had in my throat(it was my esophagus) An ENT and endocrinologist both had no clue. At least I know more now. Deo Gratias! I just need perseverance to make it though these nights until I can do more to help. I hope I respond well to treatment..and right away, I might add!!
