Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was dropping my 18 y.o. son off at college this weekend. I started thinking that this baby would be class of 2035 - wow! I usually don't look at things that way. You know - I will be so old when.....My son told me that he will take the little ones to college for me as I will probably be in a nursing home. I told him it was a deal as long as he will pay for them!

I looked around at the other parents and felt somewhat different. It was mostly couples - DH had to stay home with the other children. Plus the cost of the airline tickets meant I almost didn't get to go.   Many of the other parents were going to be empty nesters - not something I will experience - at least for a long time!

My son's roommates' moms were in the dorm room helping them make the beds, etc. Fussing over little details. I knew my son would be able to figure out where the laundry was on his own. It was almost entertaining, yet a little sad that these big fellas were so helpless.

huh?

I had a baby this past jan of 2009 - that's class of 2027 or 2028 if she graduates at 18.

Is there a reason you think they would be 27 years old at high school graduation? Even thinking 4 years of college for graduation I get 2031...

Just curious...

But yeah.. some stunning math hit me when I was pregnant with our last baby too.

That is too funny! My brilliant son is the one who said 2035! And yes, we were thinking college graduation. I just trusted him since his SAT score in math was much higher than mine. I think it would be more like 2032! Maybe he was adding in med school or law school since he is paying.
