Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Have any of you over 40 ladies noticed a change in your body odor?
Since I am asking this question you can probably guess that this is the case with me.

I am the kind of person who never really needed deodorant on a daily basis. In America I played lots of sports, etc etc, but it was a rare situation that I would smell bad. I am just not built that way. And I am also not a 2 shower a day type of person either. Since last winter I have noticed that I get stinky almost every day. I am wondering if it is changing hormones(I am 44) or is it due to having a severe illness , being fed lots of antibiotics during the healing process that changed my system.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Yes yes was I embarassed when I was standing next to dd a few yrs ago and kept sniffing and smelling cat pee I was smelling her shirt thinking oh no did the cat get into the clean laundry etc.
nope she and I discovered it was totally me .
I too had never even sweat much never wore deoderant hardly ever mostly just bought it as it seemed womanly at the time Then I turned 40 within that next yr wow look out I had to get the wild yam cream out big time watch my caffine intake for sure . I remember my Mum in her early 50's insisting I needed to buy deodarant and she told me she had to wash everyday .I thought she was crazy ( funny how I was one of those know it all young people )
Well now yes I wash every morning for sure unless it is cleaning day I wash dry spritz with my lavender orange homemade spritz I like . Then I use a natural deodarant by Tom's of Maine honeysuckle rose .It is the only one that works for me well enough better then secret etc. I then on top of that use baby powder or you could use corn starch too . It works for the day but I tell you even by bedtime I am getting stinky
Now for the good news my Mum says she never has to wash or use deodarant ever . she is 76yo so there is hope
the wild yam really helps with hot flashes I rarely get them maybe only 2-3 times a yr. which I can handle once a week was to much
Hope this helps if not just for the console alone no you are not the only stinky lady out there
Much Love , Roxie

Stephanie, I do think there might be a link. I've noticed that when I get anxious, I'm more likely to sweat in a way that smells badly. It would make sense to me that our body uses sweat to flush *stuff* out so maybe our bodies have more *stuff* to flush during this time! (Can you tell I'm not a medical type .)

Love,

Well, I was getting worried there.

I have to admit I am thankful I am not alone. It sure is interesting how our bodies are changing.
Thanks Roxie and Angie for chiming in.

I was thinking about this question Stephanie posed the other day!
I have noticed a difference, too!    I don't know what in my body make-up has changed, but I can relate some potential help?
I bought some deoderant for ds, not realizing he would identify the completely white stick as being "for girls" (I guess in his mind, he thinks the dark colors are 'guy' deoderants and the light ones for girls. Anyhoo, since we have it, I had to use it when my regular brand I have been using forever, ran out. There is a difference. I don't feel as smelly!
Maybe just changing the brand will help?

I hope this helps!

God Bless,
Stacy in MI
