Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Molly, it is the feast today down here (lunchtime) and we are making a choclate scapular cake (two square cakes with the cord joining the two, with printed images of the scapular on each cake - if my camera is charged properly this time, I will post it tonight on my blog!

Happy feast day to you all!

Thinking and praying especially for you Helen (and bubs) on this day..

Oh my... that cake it very beautiful, Anne. What an amazing idea.

I love the idea of just printing off the images on regualr paper (so simple), but for anyone interested you can get edible photos to put on cakes. I found some places on line to do special orders and I haven't checked, but I'll bet you could locally get pictures as well. You definitely can get them locally that way if you have the bakeries make the cake, too. I also saw that there is a company that sells the inks and paper to make your own (for Canon copiers).

I'm going to be going this evening to the local Carmelite monastary. They are having a special prayer service and adoration for the feast day.

Happy Feast Day to you all!

Molly it was printed onto normal paper and then removed when eaten and Mary that is a great idea of course to have it printed so as to be made edible, they do it around our area for birthday cakes or anniversary cakes etc.

I am looking forward to seeing these cakes!

Nothing big here for the feast other than that my mom (who lives with us) turned 76! today and we got home from our camping extraganza in plenty of time to get a grill and make her some REALLY rare steak! Not bad, eh? I think Our Lady of Mt. Carmel would be proud, don't you?????
