Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am an only child, of a single parent. Sooo, I learned NOTHING about housekeeping or budgeting when I was being raised. I know how to cook, but nothing healthy!! And the healthy stuff I have been cooking (dh and I have been on the Dukan diet, and have lost a TON of weight) is $$$ (lean meats and dairy, and veggies).
So, I serious help. We have a cleaning lady come in every other week, but honestly, while she does a good job, it's harder on me b/c they put stuff "away" where it doesn't GO! (I know it sounds petty)
So, I'm learning on the job, I'm working on making our home more simple, but this is hard!! Dh is also an only child, so our kids are.. spoiled. (grands buy them SO MUCH)
I just recently "got it" that the baseboards need to be cleaned!!
So, can y'all share your tips on how to get the stuff done?
How often do you do baseboards? move couches? stuff like that? FlyLady doesn't work for me, I don't know why.. but it doesn't.
Maybe getting off the computer would help!
Anyway, if you have a routine you wouldn't mind sharing.. that would be great, we've got 3 months or less left in this rental, then we're moving and buying a home, and I want to keep *our* home beautiful!

Motivated Moms

That's what I use. It's all spelled out for me with daily chores. EASY!

www.FlyLady.net

She comes up on a google search.

She walks you through learning how to take care of your home, your family, and yourself.

I apologize for not posting a link. I tried 3 times and it wouldn't link.

I'm going to go finish my coffee now!

You are doing so well already, learning how to cook. I know how hard it is to teach yourself when you feel you are 'late out the gate'.

Baseboards, windows etc those major items I do twice a year. At Lent and Advent I do a deep clean and we have a list and go room by room. Windows, screens, curtains, wipe wall (baseboards), cobwebs, light/fan fixtures etc. I do lounges then, but dh might do it in beteen if it is bugging him. I also do it if my mil is coming because so embarrassing when she goes to clean and finds a mess underneath
