Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have what should be a lovely wood double pedastal table.. badly in need of repair and refinishing.

So today I learned that we'll need to reglue the table legs.. and that I should use a polyeurathane glue for that type of join.

I also learned how to take off and put on casters.. though I still need to get more.. I pulled a broken one off to take with me to the store. And learned that weight bearing load for wheels is distributed over the wheels so if 1 wheel holds 30#.. and the item has 4 wheels it'll hold 120# etc.

And the kids and I discussed if it would make more sense to strip and refinish the under parts before or after the table top.. smart 13 yr old boy says.. if we do the table top last we won't be turning the refinished table top onto the floor. great point.

Also, if you do the top last any drips will run down underneath which is much less noticeable than if they run onto the table top.

And do you know about these already? They really do make stripping and refinishing SO much less icky.
