We have always used very little paper products. Paper towels and TP...that's it. And we use our paper towels very little. As of late, I've been feeling overwhelmed with dishes and laundry. There are times, like after a baby is born, we use paper plates often. Well, now, I'm feeling the desire to use paper plates and napkins for two meals a day. Our thought was conserve and save money. Now I'm wondering after one load a day of napkins with towels and needing to run the dishwasher twice, am I really saving money? Throwing away the plates and napkins sounds really tempting to me right now! What do you do?

During really intense seasons in life we resort to paper plates and such. With a new baby on the way it's easy to see why you feel the need to lessen the load.
When family visited recently, we purchased baby wipes and Kleenex ~ luxuries we don't usually indulge in ~ we felt time spent together was more important than frugality. At this stage of life I tend to look at whether our time is worth the extra expense for such things.
I do watch for sales throughout the year, especially if I know we will be having guests, or a particularly busy season is approaching ~ I squirrel the extras away in our master bedroom closet, where such things are less likely to enter the mainstream of daily activity ~ dc know that items in Mom's and Dad's room are off limits without permission!
Your post reminds me ~ a nice "gift" when a new baby arrives is a meal packed with various disposable items to help lessen the new parents' workload.
Prayers for you and your family as you await your new arrival!

I claim being overwhelmed.. not just now but in general
we do use the cheapest paper plates.. too flimsy to use for "real meals" but so nice for simple things like sandwiches and burritos and that usually means at least little washing up in the middle of the day since sandwiches are a lunch staple. So we don't use a huge amount but having that little bit really does help.

Thank you for the prayers!!! We are excited!
Right now, I'm finding that I need the break to attend to my kids and my sanity! God willing, in March, we will NEED paper products. (And you do bring up a great idea for a nice gift with the meal! I will have to remember that. ) I'm really struggling with getting my dd to help me keep up with the kitchen. Maybe this is a time to "take a break".
Has anyone found really good deals on paper products?

Check out Amazon.com and do subscribe and save. You can get great deals on all paper products plus delivered right to your door! SO easy to do and you save an additional 15% off their already low prices. Helps to soothe the "guilty" feelings of using the disposable products!
Blessings~
