Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Think about the 3 Stooges or the Marx Brothers. - Remember how sometimes they would chase one another around, spraying seltzer water from a kind of hand-held spray thing that I think added carbon dioxide to regular water to make it fizzy? Now that is a very poor description of what I'm looking for - but maybe it strikes a cord with someone

My family all love to mix seltzer with a small amount of juice for a treat. But I feel so bad about all of those plastic seltzer bottles that we're always putting in the recycling. What I'm trying to describe is, I think, used to make seltzer at home and it's reusable.

Any idea what it's called or where to get one?

Peace,
Nancy

Glass Seltzer bottles.

A soda siphon would be a modern day alternative.

We make our own seltzer, I found the directions online with photos for the tubing , fittings and guage to connect the CO2 tank to a soda bottle cap with a tube fitting. We freeze a bit of water in a liter bottle, break up the ice and add more water, screw the bottle into the screw on top attached to the CO2 tank, turn on the gas and shake, turn off, uncap and recap with another cap. The bubbles are smaller. I prefer keeping a freezer shelf of bottles and rinsing and washing (I use a bit of hydrogen peroxide to keep the bottles fresh) used bottles over lugging seltzer bottle in and recycling out. This set up is inside our pantry door so it is handy for everyone to use. We get the CO2 tank refilled as needed-after over a year we are on our 2nd refill.
