Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Our mud room is just so stinky due to all the shoes in there. Most are running shoes. I guess we have some really sweaty feet in this family
I would put them outside in the garage but I am worried about the mice making homes in them and they will be cold when you put them on. Also, there is no room.
Does anyone have ideas for getting the smell out of my laundry/mud room which is like our front door right now?

We put one of those "Adjustable" Air Fresheners on the top shelf of our front door closet. As soon as I open it, I pull the lid all the top, so it starts working full force right away

You could always get a container of Baby Powder and ask the kids to sprinkle some in after taking off their shoes?

Gold Bond powder might be good in the shoes to cut down on oder.

A few drops of lemon essential oil on a piece of cloth works for our mudroom. I add a few drops every week

maybe powder in the shoes?

Thanks for all the suggestions. It seems better today. Maybe it was the wet shoes

When our shoes get real dirty or stinky, I run them through the washing machine.

Does throwing running sneakers in the washer work? At one time someone told me not too! I would LOVE to do that--minus the orthotics of course!!

I'm not sure you can put leather sneakers in the washer, but other if they're made from other materials it should work for you. After washing sneakers you can stuff them with newspaper, rags or old socks to help dry them and keep them from losing shape. Putting them out in the sun while they're drying also helps.

We have a special spray called KIWI Fresh Force Shoe Freshener...slide inside the shoe, press down; it sprays a dry powdery freshener inside. Dh works in a wet environment all day long and has serious foot odor problems...this product even helps his work boots smell better!
