Baking Gals is a website that brings together willing bakers with a soldier stationed overseas. Once a month registered bakers can decide if they would like to sign up to send a specific soldier some cookies. The catch on this is that the group tries to sign up 20 bakers per soldier and completely flood the soldier with baked goods.

One of the letters on the site is from a mom who says that her son shared his bounty with all the guys in his area and STILL had only eaten half of what was sent so he decided to share with the children in the Afghani village near them. Can you imagine what goodwill that brings?

My Girl Scout troop decided to sign up to do this for the holidays. Anyone can join and each month you can choose to join a baking team or skip that month.
