Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Since I've run out of space on our walls or refrigerator to post inspirational quotes or images (at least without making the house seem too cluttered), I've turned to tucking various holy cards, quotes and favorite images (such as Our Lady of Altagracia) inside our kitchen cupboard doors. The doors all have an inner frame that allows pages to slip neatly inside the edges....every time I open the cupboards, anmd take the time to glance at its contents, I'm blessed with a moment of inspiration! A lovely quote from Mother Angelica, on patience, came my way today...after reading it, I quickly realized I needed to read it again and again....it now happily resides in our our kitchen cupboard gallery, where I can read it much more often than if I had tucked it away in a drawer somewhere !

"Every day, my Jesus, I learn by some situation or experience of my great need of You. When I try to be patient on my own, my patience is forced and short-lived. It is obvious to everyone that I am desperately trying to be patient. When I raise my mind and heart to You, dear Jesus, and see You so serenely patient, my soul drinks in that spirit of patience, like a cool breeze on a humid night. Your patience penetrates my being and only then am I truly patient. It takes so long to learn that I can bear fruit only in You." Mother Angelica

That is a good idea! I've been putting comics inside my cabinets for years, but only two have religious references (one is Peanuts and the other is For Better or Worse.) I have rather a dry sense of humor (inherited from my dad .)

I am really taken with the idea of taping up quotes and images, though. Right now, they are on the fridge and tucked into the corners of my one "china" looking cabinet in our kitchen and do look sort of messy.

Forgot to mention, I do have one framed picture of Our Lady of Good Counsel in the kitchen. But the rest is a hodge-podge.

In Christ,
Stacy in MI

What a neat idea. And a sure way to help get some more pray and minute meditations in during the day!
