Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I know this shows how inept I can be at sewing, sometimes I can sew pretty well and others not. I have this maternity skirt that I love that has a frayed fringe at the bottom that I want to fix the hem to just have a normal classic hem, and I'm having trouble getting it straight, any great tips would be so appreciated as far as how to line it up, measure, what kind of stith or length of stitch you'd recommend on denim, etc. Thanks so much!

you're probably dealing with a skirt that the edge is wider than where you'd sew the hem. You can't lay that flat.. you deal with it when making a skirt by having that edge for the hem be straight.. but when you're rehemming a skirt you often get caught on it.

You can put a very light gather in the edge of the skirt to space it out for hemming or you can do something like.. Line up your seams.. then halfway between those and half way between all the points you have now etc. And you just add little tucks evenly around the hem.
