Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking to replace my non-stick bakeware for a safer option. Loaf pans and 9x13s can be glass, but I'd really like to find round cake pans and nice muffins tins (mini and regular.) Any suggestions?

I switched to Pampered Chef stoneware for almost all of my baking needs and I cannot say enough good about them!!!!!!!

Fuzzy is a member here and a Pampered Chef hostess. If you have questions you might pm her.

stainless steel is nice but expensive.. and you can get all kinds of bakeware these days in the enamelware.

Thank you.

Dumb question though--with the round stones or enamelware can you use 2 of those to make a regular double layer 8 inch cake?

I make my 8 inch double layer cakes with these Norpro stainless cake pans, Melissa (although they are 9 inch pans). But the answer to your question is yes, if you can find an 8 inch stoneware dish or an enamelware dish, you can still bake in them and make your double layer cakes.

Just going to stir the pot here for a minute. My dh makes teflon. It is not unsafe. Numerous studies, numerous, believe me, have been done. It is not unsafe.

That said, I prefer baking with stoneware, and so I do. I prefer cast iron skillets and griddles, so I use those.

But if you like teflon, by all means don't ditch it.

Please don't throw back at me all the studies and stats. I've seen them, talked with dh (who BTW is very chemical/safety conscious as in we garden/clean house, etc. with organic/natural products) and could but won't spout rebuttals to all claims that teflon is unsafe.

I like this forum in that so many angles are presented for any question. I'm putting this out there in that spirit. I'm not condemning anyone for choosing not to use teflon. As I said, I don't but for different reasons. But I also get tired of hearing misleading information about a product that is good, and I am speaking up for that reason.
