I am in the market for a wrist watch with alarms I can set to tell me when to move to the next task and also to set the go off for the angelus and things like that. So, I would be always resetting the watch for the next big block task in my day. (I am trying to figure out how to incorporate all the things I have to do each day into blocks as was discussed on another thread recently. Funny, I still have too many "to dos" so don't know how to handle that dilemna!  )
Anyway, I am in no way techno-savvy. I purchased a watch a few years ago from Wal-mart that had alarms on it and even my physicist husband could not get that one to work, so it was obviously a piece of junk. I need a watch that is easy to use and mom friendly in that it can get beaten around and wet. I don't even wear a watch currently which is problamatic in ordering my day, but I had to take my old one off so much, I just stopped wearing one altogether. Price is an issue with me. Can anyone recommend a good watch that can be set to alarm frequently that can get wet? Is there one that someone has that has stood the test of time and you love??? It is a simple item, but I think for a person like me, with no sense of time, perhaps a watch that I could set throughout the day for prayers, school, when to make dinner etc. would be SO helpful! I don't just want to go and shell out any money on "some" watch as I have been disappointed with the last few. This post seems absurd in so many ways!  Who doesn't wear a watch???

No clue on a watch.. but I use my cell phone like that.. and it's nice because I can use the calender feature and put in things that will repeat every day or every week or every month for however long I want to set them for.  AND it has what it is I'm supposed to be doing entered rather than just an alarm going off.

Cell phone is a good option, also a kitchen timer. I had one that could schedule two times for alarm, I think from Williams Sonoma.
My dh got me a simple Timex sports watch from Dicks for Christmas, Timex Women's T5J151 1440 Sports Digital Watch. It's got a countdown timer, stopwatch, also alarm, chime on the hour, and very simple and basic. It's not beautiful, but very helpful -- especially for a Mom who has boys that want to see "how fast can I go?".

I like Timex watches - I have a Timex Expedition watch now. I think I spend between 20 and 30 dollars on one and it lasts for years. I'm tough on a watch - get it wet and hit it on things all the time. Like Jenn said, these aren't really dainty watches, but I'm pretty active and need and appreciate a practical watch.
I don't know if I can set my watch for multiple alarms though, Kim. I have a chimes function on my laptop that I set to alarm for those prayer pegs. I would love to have an old clock that chimes the hours for us! We actually have a couple, but have had bad luck with clock repairs. Since these are lovely old German clocks, I'm afraid to take any more chances...but this is such a tangent.
Good luck finding something that works for you! It might be worthwhile to go to Target or Walmart and ask the salesperson behind the counter to help you narrow down based on your requirements. I've had good luck doing that in the past.

I have this watch except dark gray where they have blue and lavender where they have dark gray. I love it. It has stood the test of time (haha, no pun intended!) and can get wet. In fact, I almost never take it off.
It can chime on the hour (I use this occasionally to keep myself moving through my day) and has three alarms you can set. Mine go off at 8 AM (angelus and get the whip crackin' to get kids moving with finishing up morning routine), noon (angelus, toddler down for a nap) and 5 PM (angelus and the dinner panic time ). I believe I payed $29 at Target awhile back. It's been worth the money.
I've also heard good things about software like this where you can set multiple alarms, use your own MP3 songs, etc. We'd use it, but I don't have a centrally located computer that is always on.

I love the waterproof feature! I know if I have to take it off, I forget where I put it!
If you do have a central computer, Outlook can schedule alarms. I always had an alarm for the angelus -- I can make it have a noise and a visual. Very helpful for someone who loses track of time.

Timex "waterproof" to 50M and a kitchen timer would be my suggestions.

Kitchen timer works for me! I haven't worn a watch for ages and ages! Just today, my youngest ds came up to show me his "new electronic pocket watch"....his MP3 player...I had no idea cell phones and MP3 players even have time features!
