Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been puzzling over this, googling, yahooing, checking with my own homeschool group, and I can't find the answer. Thought I would check with you all.

22yods called me in a panic the other day. He had cracked an egg (making French toast ) and the egg white was completely red. I had no clue, but I told him, too quickly, to pitch it (he should have kept it and taken it to the animal division at his school- they have a huge agricultural program!) That ruined his appetite for eggs that day, but he and I are still curious what make the egg white *red*. It wasn't just a dot or anything. The whole thing was red.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

God Bless,
Stacy in MI

A cut in the tract of the chicken eggs and the egg formed around the blood. Any injury in the egg duct will cause this.   Younger or very old birds are more likely to have this happen. It's not fertilization no rooster exposure in store bought eggs and also if it had been fertile slightly incubated and then died it would be a chick blob. Annie

Thank you! Ds felt this was pretty when he cracked it open. Poor guy.    I recall my mum would always crack an egg into a small dish before adding it to whatever she was making. And she always did one at a time. It must have been for instances like ds's and what you mentioned, Annie.

Off to call ds and give him this update!    Always love to have any reason to call him!

God Bless,
