dakotamidnight asked about potty training and part of the concern is the cost involved. How do you save money while diapering and potty training?

diapers to underwear.. pull ups are generally more expensive and a child that can pull a pull-up up and down can probably pull off a diaper at need.

consider cloth training pants.. places that make the good cloth diapers may also sell the training pants which may cost more to start but are a long term investment.. one time cost not a constant drain.

Looking forward to the answers. I was wondering if they still make those rubber or plastic diaper covers?

If you buy the thick training underwear but don't want the wet spots around the house (because of carpet) perhaps putting the diaper covers over it. So at home, wear that, and daytime pull-ups only when going out.

I am waiting for the spring and summer time when I can put on the training pants and let them go outdoors. That's cheaper to wash the pants and let the accidents happen outside.

Weeeelll, if you cloth diapering, they tend to have very, err, fluffy bottoms. I have always found that when they move into unders, they can wear their smaller sized shorts and pants again! LOL! Seriously though, I have noticed this and save on buying the next size up for awhile that way.
