Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for a pettidress for my dd (size 6-6x) to wear under a sleeveless sundress for Easter. I remember seeing this in a catalog a few years ago(can't remember which one) I remember that one was either long or short sleeves and had lace running across the bottom...it extends the life of dresses and makes them look more little girlish....any ideas where I can find one that is reasonably priced??

I think I might have to ck out the patterns at the fabric store.... If you know of a good pattern, I would like to know that too

TIA!!

Here's one - it's more of a ruffle than lace, but it's very simple and pretty.   Price is $32.50.

I had this problem about 3 years ago. I LOVE petticoats for little girls. I tried Sears, JC Penn, Wal-Mart, Dillard's, Target...nearly 12 stores, with no luck. What does it say about our dress that no store carries these anymore? I actually took a big white snug-fitting tank t-shirt and added rows of lace and tulle at the bottom. It worked great. I need to make another one as some of the little girl dresses are way too sheer for my taste. Hope this helps

I did this up until the girls were about 11. I gave most of them away... lovely white pettidresses from Children's Wear Digest (and a few white ones I sewed myself, lace and all!) with all sorts of jumpers over the. But I MIGHT have one or two more hanging in a back closet somewhere.... should I look and see for you all?

Sadly, girl #3 is way to tall now, at 11, for any of them.... and the next 5 babies were BOYS!

Peace,
Macmom

I made simple little pettidresses for under my girls' Easter dresses this year. You will see that I made them with checkered material matching the main dress. I have already bought white lacy material to make each of them another one to wear with other dresses.

You can check them out on my blog.

Oh Joann!! Those dresses are lovely! And those underslip dresses, too! I just might get motivated here...
