I just found a new home for all of our CD's.....right near the stereo instead of in the boys' room. 
They are organized by composer, singer or style. I made bright cards for the labels and it looks great and I FEEL SO GOOD!!!! 
I want to shout for joy......but there is barely anyone home right now to hear me........so I came here to all of you! YES!!! I finally got something done!!
I have been thinking about picking ONE project that needs organizing and giving it a week to get done. Or, at least picking a STEP of a project per week.
...because I have been getting NO WHERE fast for at least a year or so........maybe a decade 
If I started a thread for that.........we could each place our weekly desire on the list......and then go for it......and cheer for each other. Anyone game?
In the meantime........what have you conquered that makes you feel good right now?

Well it's not a physical something.. but I did some organizing on my Amazon wish lists in preparation for being able to buy more books this spring. I love it.. makes it so much easier to know where to put a book that I'm looking at.. but especially to be able to reduce the selection of books I'm looking at for purchasing right now.. We're looking at concentrating on the 19th century in History and I want to get some books.. I have several kids that love to read about historical stuff and no the library is usually not much help.

oh wait.. I did get about halfway through organizing the physical books too.. I have very limited space so I have out the 19th century books on a shelf.. and I want to put away the other books by historical category as well.. but I haven't quite finished that part.. the boxes are hiding behind the couch

Well, you already know that I am being borderline obsessive compulsive about organizing books on saints/liturgical year reading. 
Seriously though, organizing helps me make good use of the materials I have around here. If I don't have it organized -- it takes too much time to pull together, pull it out, find it, hunt it down, figure out where it belongs -- and I feel like I'm not a very good steward of the material blessings we've got.
What have I conquered that makes me feel good right now???? Hmmmm.................oh, I know!!
** Catalogs and our Rosary drawer **
I did this just yesterday. Catalogs and rosaries live in the same coffee table. I purged all the old catalogs, scooped up a few education catalogs (I always keep those in special magazine files so they're easy to find if I'm looking for something), and sorted them in their drawer. Much nicer. Aaaaaaaah! And, the rosary drawer above it had gotten a little tangled and messy, so I sorted and found little butter dishes for the individual rosaries to sit in and tidied the prayer books. Better.

My spice/baking/cooking/tea cupboard. I am trying that 40 bags for Lent thingy I read about...where?, and just started in the kitchen. I was amazed at the ages of some spices, dressing mix packets, worcestershire sauces, teas (mostly unique specialty ones I bought for holidays for guests and only used two or three packets  ,) etc. Funny how one clean cabinet can make me so happy!

It's all I can do to stay on top of my catechism class, LA History class, homeschool curriculum/recording, my checkbook, and our new Olympic folders.
What I need to organize is my pantry (major!), my bookshelves, and my closet!

I'm on a search and destroy mission in the kids' closets . They can't find anything that fits them AND looks decent, so I'm purging all the rags and keeping only the essentials. I HATE finding clean clothes in the laundry  . So that means they must have too much to keep track of and the tatters will have to go.
Congrats on the CD spot Chari. It sure is nice to have things where you use them .

Well, I have organised a phonics curriculum for my son -still no luck with maths  We also organised our bookshelves so all dh's depressing WWI and WWII books are upstairs and not on display in the sitting room. Much nicer not to see the name Hitler or the word War umpteen times every time I look at the bookshelves. We also took a glass fronted secretaire, stapled fabric behind the doors, and now have a electronics cabinet to keep the laptop, printer, chargers etc all in one place, out of sight but handy - previously the printer was in a cupboard upstairs.
Just need to keep up the momentum! This week I need to condense down a whole room (albeit small) down into one cupboard (thankfully large!) for sewing/knitting/crafting. I'm excited.

oh Celeste, that's so exhausting and so rewarding.. nothing like knowing you're gonna have to box it up and haul it around and then unpack it to really make you consider the worth of an item

Well since I got off bedrest, nesting is HUGE here. I'm trying not to go too overboard.
So far dd age 5 and I whittled down her wacky overflowing dressup box to only 5 items and we stored the rest in the basement. I was amazed she was so cooperative and then when we finished she said "this is so much better, what can we do now?" So proceeded to do the same with stuffed animals and bags/backpacks. And she let me tape up her Barbie plastic drawers and remove it to the basement too. She never really played nicely with them.
I guess that's not really organizing...but it is decluttering!
I had plans while on bedrest to do the pantry when I got up...but dh already did it! HA!

Wow...
Well, we worked in our sunroom/pantry this last week (it is about 300sq ft). I've gotten a bit done in the last month, and I've kind of slowed down a bit. I really need DH to build me more shelves in the pantry so I can get things in that room (and one other) better organized. Definitely need help there. Can't do it myself....
It is one of those domino-effect kind of things. If I have the shelves, then I can put the things that have to go on them, up there, and then I can have the floor space. If I have those things up, then I can move in the other things that belong in that room (that currently have *no* place to go, and are sitting taking up massive amounts of floor space in the 'schoolroom'). I cannot paint as I need to, so the stuff in my bedroom isn't getting done until I can crack open windows this spring.
So while I can tackle teeny tiny things, well, I need to get the big stuff done, really. I organized my kitchen a bit better, got my table linen dresser organized, the cabinet by the back door (which holds alot of different things), hauled off a box and a bag to the Salvation Army last week, will be loaning out maternity clothes to someone else this coming week (those aren't in the house, they are in storage in the shop)...cleaned off the washer/dryer, and the mudroom cleaning closet...ugh...
Anyway, keep plugging away. It does help!

I finally tackled the art cabinet that had overgrown its organization system and threatened to spillout every time you tried to get something out of it.
I *really* need to do the entry closet next, but it's a little scary.

Well, the most recent bigger project for me has been our food cupboards - I sorted them by what is considered fasting food and what isn't. So it's SO much easier on a fasting day to just take from the one cupboard (well, it's actually 2, since there are still more foods we can eat than we can't...)

I have been decluttering for Lent, too. So far I have done all three bedrooms and the bathroom/laundry room. For the rest of the week I have to work through the entryway, living room, and kitchen. Next week I have to do the entire basement.
Then I have to go back and deep clean it all.
I have company coming on March 16. Lots and lots of company. Two Grandmothers who have never seen my house. My mother. Both my sisters.
You know what it's like when the grandmothers and the mother come.... nothing can ever be clean enough.
So really, I don't even have all Lent. Just until March 16.

The same day that I got the CDs in order......and was able to increase space to bring out some Jim Weiss for my little guy who does not know him very well yet .
I also finally finished filling up and put away three large boxes of oldest ds's stuff.....that we do not need about us while he is out of the country or at college. I let that stuff be in our way for mnay months...now the boys can breathe a bit in their room.
Tonight, while laying on the floor in the hallway ........I came up with a new plan to move some books (all of the LH books) to the boys ceiling shelves.......to make room for the exploding spiritual book shelves. That is a relief to me because it was making me crazy. Not sure when I will get to it, though.
This week, my decluttering project: finish all of the financial stuff for two kids going to college next fall. It is bogging everything else down right now. CANNOT.WAIT.TO.BE.DONE!!!!! My dh and I have an appt to start first thing on Thursday am and go till we finish.........I am happy to have that date!

I've been working on our playroom. We rearranged the rooms so now there are no toys in the kids' rooms. It's like heaven! We just put up a bunch of shelves, which the kids prmptlt filled up with their precious Lego models! I've made a huge dent, though, and that makes me happy.

my closet! except not everything is done yet -- still have to do dh's side and containerize a few categories, but it's getting there.
the vhs's! i finally gave up and just bagged the vhs's that have been sitting there for 3-4 years now. they were such an eyesore, ugh! they included my cooking videos that i taped as a newlywed, 20+ years ago.
i still only have 3 bags though (doing the 40 bags in 40 days thing), so i have to catch up -- i am not counting trash and recycle bags because i KNOW we have too much stuff that we need to get rid of. hoping to do some work today in the basement.
what i really need/want to organize are our photo albums. it's giving me a headache just thinking about it. my dd is 8, yikes! and nino's catching up (though all we have of him are digital pics, sign of the times).
stacy, you must have seen it at Faith and Family Live.
