I posted this under the SNOW! thread, but thought I'd mention here just what I've been doing (in addition to baking sandwich bread, pumpkin bread and glaced mincemeat bars) while dh shovels and the kids build luge runs and igloos ....

Since we have a snow activity thread, here's one we enjoy: making Snow Cream!

Layer snow in a big bowl with sugar between the layers. Mix about 2c. of heavy cream with a teaspoon of vanilla in measuring cup. Slowly pour the cream into the snow and sugar, mixing as you pour. It makes a delicious ice cream with its own special snow taste!
