Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I bake baked pears often. I simply cut the pears in half and remove the cores. I mix butter with molasses, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg and pour it over the pears. I bake them at 350* for 45 minutes or so.

you could also use an apple crisp recipe and just substitute pears, or a peach cobbler recipe and use pears instead of peaches.

Ooohhoohh another thing my sons like to do:

Core the pear (but leave it whole)
Fill the core with Red Hots
Wrap each pear in foil
Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.

The inside of the pears will turn pink from the red hots!
