Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Help! I am organizationally challenged, as are my children. I need a "safe" place to store board games and art supplies (paper mostly) so that it is out of the way but easy to access. I am looking for a cabinet, but I worry about the whole mess of them throwing things in and then everything falls out when they try to take a game out.

I use this Expedit Bookcase to store games and puzzles.

I also use a bookcase to store my art supplies, with paint up on the highest shelf.

Molly we got a cabinet with doors from Big Lots. If you have a big Lots near you their furniture is reasonably priced and I was able to use a door lock to keep the doors closed.

Ooh, I like that one, Mary Chris. I just need to get rid of my playroom and convert it into a schoolroom so I can put these shelves in there.

Okay, Mary Chris, I have one of these for my schoolbooks and love it! But how do you fit board games on there?

Molly,

We have a few games that are too big for it, Monopoly and Blokus, otherwise they all fit in their pretty nicely. I just checked regular Monopoly fits, Navy Monopoly doesn't.

It looked like it didn't have a back for it; do books fall behind it at all?

It doesn't have a back. Ours is not flush with the wall because of our baseboards, but it doesn't have a huge gap. Our books don't fall back there. I was sorta hoping our next MUS books had actualy fallen behind it, I can't find them anywhere!!

I bought a bunch of those Expedit bookcases after seeing them showcased at Mary Chris' house. They are faublous, and we've only had very thin picture books fall behind. With my games, we have started putting pieces in a plasic container with a label and then ditching the boxes when we can. I'm just waiting until I can get a bunch of Tupperware modular mates instead of my using mismatched plasticware from the kitchen. Then it will look BEAUTIFUL!(imo )
