Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We just moved into a new home and it is larger than our last one. I fnd myself having to yell way too much for my children to hear me. Our home doesn't have one of those nice intercom systems. Does anyone have any ideas for phones or a cheap system that can be used? I currently use a bell for meals, but I don't even want to do that anymore. Walkie talkies may work, but my kids are seven and under, so I'm afraid they may take them and they'll be lost!

Any ideas?????

When dd14 was a baby instead of a baby monitor we bought intercoms that you can hang on the wall. I think some phone systems also have an intercom function, but I'm not sure how it works. Have you checked out Best Buy?

Jenn, we use phones to page downstairs in the basement. The upper floor has a "catwalk"type thing so we don't usually need it for upstairs. With the phones, you don't have to go to the wall to use an intercom. We just bought another set (old set was worn out) at B.J.'s with 4 phones and a base for $79, I think...

HTH!

Jennifer, we have a multiphone system that my husband brought home from work, when his boss upgraded, and it works well as an intercom. The brand is Panasonic MultiTalk. It says it's expandable to 8, but we have only 6, most of which we never use. We also use 2-way radios, more for outdoors on the land, since our house is rather small...those might also serve the same purpose as an intercome. You could always try tin cans and string!
