Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yesterday, on his way home, dh picked up some BBQ at our favorite BBQ place. I highly recommend Pierce's BBQ Pit when you visit Williamsburg, Va.    YUM! If I am not feeling to lazy, I'll make some potato salad and baked beans to go along with it. My mouth is starting to water already! I hope I make it to dinner!

I have no idea what is in my fridge! I just got home yesterday and my husband bought groceries while I was away. I'll investigate and let you know...

Nothing better than the aroma of BBQ pork spareribs in the slow cooker and freshly baking chocolate chip cookies (dh's request) in the oven.

Is it BBQ day?

This morning (after I put the ribs in the slow cooker) I forgot that dh asked me to bake a pack of homemade boudin for supper.

Guess I'll do that later in the day and he can take it to work tomorrow.

We've been out on the reef all day and are exhausted but famished. I just happen to have a new basil plant, so it's a simple home-made tomato/basil pizza for dinner tonight. Wish I had some fresh mozarella, but shredded will have to do this time.

Can you share? I'm still not satisfied with our recipes...either too gooey or too drippy.

Grilled teriyaki chicken, cole slaw, aromatic rice, green beans. (One of the biggest things I missed while caring for our lovey foster children was cooking and enjoying home cooked meals so my dd and I are *really* grateful to slow down in the kitchen - no more chicken nuggest for awhile .)

Love,

Theresa, reminds me of a cartoon I saw years ago called something like "A Woman's Perfect Garden" and it had a basil plant, a tomato plant, and a fresh mozerella plant .

Love,

Well ours was a little goopy. Here's the recipe, I confess I misread the amount of water so that may have affected how it turned out.

4 Cups fresh strawberries per pie

Crush 1 cup of the berries, put in saucepan and stir in:
3T cornstarch
2/3 cup sugar
dash of salt

Stir in 1/2 cup boiling water. This is to be the glaze. Heat until thick (stir contstantly).

Arrange 3 cups of berries in a baked pie shell. Cover with glaze.

Chill. Serve with whipped cream. (Add a bit more sugar if the berries aren't ripe.)

From Eat, Drink and Be Chinaberry

I love Eat, Drink and Be Chinaberry!! The honey mustard baked chicken is totally excellent.

I found turkey tenders in my fridge, and lots of salad stuff, so we had lemon turkey, pasta, corn and salad. Not bad for a not-planned-by-me grocery run!

It is my go-to cookbook! I thought about typing out all our favorites but I'd be here all morning.
