Does anyone know where you can buy some nice oven gloves (I think here you might call them potholders or hot gloves or something?!!) and an old fashioned apron which ties around the neck and back. My 20 year old oven gloves from England have just fallen apart after years of being mended. And my apron too. I would love to make - but right now being realistic, it is not going to happen. I figure getting something pretty might inspire me in the kitchen.

I ordered some from Fuzzy a few months ago and my dh and I have been so pleased.

Pampered Chef Oven Mitt - very nice, well padded, lots of protection.

but, these are my favorites...

Pampered Chef Oven Pad - the little hand band is GREAT, and offers my dd more security when removing large casseroles from the oven. I highly recommend!

OK - sorry to sound ignorant - but don't you need a mitt for each hand? My old faithful from England was a one piece with a pocket for each hand - wish I could find something to link to - a long rectangle with a pocket for each hand..

maybe I need to talk to Fuzzy - you should see the burns all over my hands and wrists from the last few days

Ours are located in the back of the store where the table cloths and placemats are. Sometimes I have seen them in a separate display near the bedding where they like to show off their season specific linens.

Marilyn I have two of the of the Pampered Chef mitts. I LOVE them. I have had them for many many years and they are so great. I have no holes and they look well used and I think I'm touching some pretty hot things sometimes, and I've never burned myself using them, or even felt it get hot.

Oh, I know what you mean! Those are neat! I would probably use your kind more often, because I usually end up using a towel to pull things out. I like wrapping around the items, which your mitt would do.

For the American kind, one will do if you're using just one hand, but two usually.

Marilyn, I second the Pampered Chef mitts. I had a pair that I used for years. Unfortunately, I left them in the states. I do really miss them. They are nice and thick and will protect your hands.

I used the type we have over here, but I never felt that my hands were as protected. They seem to be thinner than the Pampered Chef mitts.

I also use a towel to take things out of the oven, Jenn. Is that a southern thing?

Marilyn, I use 2 mitts! I am not strong enough to carry things with just one hand. The mitts are long enough to cover the arm as I reach in the oven, thus keeping the burns off my wrists!    I sent you an email, Marilyn (let me know if it doesn't come), but if anyone else is looking for mitts, PM me.
