The other day at the orthodontist I saw a BBq recipe that looked good and EASY. Throw a tri-tip roast in the crock-pot and cover it with BBQ sauce and let it cook. I'll serve sweet potatoes of some sort with it and a salad.

I am making polish kielbasa and polenta, salad, and vegetable. This will be our first time to try polenta, so I've got to figure out how to make it.

We're having meatballs and rice with peas and maybe a salad too.
One of my goals this Lent is to make polenta too. I've never made it before.

Love polenta (hmmm....why haven't I made it in awhile?) A tip is to use plenty of water...it thickens at a much greater rate than other grains. Fiddle with water ratio and cooking time until you get your preferred consistency. Also, spread leftovers in a rectangular container, refrigerate, then slice in the morning, panfry (will splatter a bit,) and serve with pancake toppings. (Water will also affect how well your polenta will hold together for frying.)
Pancake breakfast for dinner - we just received our new griddle, one we can use on our new ceramic stovetop. We were bummed to not have pancakes on Fat Tuesday so we'll have them tonight, we just won't overdo .

What about when you buy it ready made in a tube? I have both box and tube version.

My uncle who grew up in backwoods rural Georgia (think no indoor plumbing until 10) who has just sold his house in Beverly Hills to move to an island in the Carribean (think lots of swank and $$) joked to me that when he tried Polenta (at some fancy restaurant, I think) he decided it was just a fancy name for Southern Grits 
We're having chicken soup for dinner.

Spaghetti and meatballs---I just finished making 90 meatballs--I hope there are leftovers for my lunch on Saturday--but I am not counting on it.

We had Brown Sugar Pancakes that Natalia recommended with Pork and Apple Sausage and Pork and Leek Sausage. I love the sausage over here. And the pancakes are going into the recipe box. They were so yummy.

The polenta in a tube is a great convenience! - but is much more expensive than bulk polenta. You can panfry it and even grill it - yum!
