Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Don't forget your "Monday Missions" for decluttering.

You can read more about all of us doing this here.Clearing Spaces

Pick one hotspot a week. Spend 30 minutes on it. Have 7 spaces cleared by Easter if you do one per week.

If you cannot do it today, do it sometime this week and share what you've done.

Have fun and don't take on too much. Remember to keep it in check. The point isn't to exhaust yourself or to ignore your kids & spiritual life.

You can read my blog for more details.

I actually woke up looking forward to this. I'm the type of person who needs this kind of structure! I'm off to work on job #1 - my laundry room!

I didn't realize this was going on but I cleaned out my personal closet yesterday.

I feel so successful!

Awesome, Cay!

I bet that does feel good. I love opening up an orderly closet.

I did the "medicine cupboard" yesterday.. it's actually the top half of the linen closet in the hallway.. and I tossed stuff, and put all meds into the small tote, have herbs and vitamins put together.. and just generally straighted it up so that things would quit jumping out also the herbs in my room on a little shelf behind the door.

I came back.. I have a very hard time planning a specific area.. because I'm just contrary enough that I'll find something else to work on that needs work just as much but won't be what I've said.. so I will do more today.. but I just won't know what it will be until I discover it.

I sort of did the first mission. My goal was to get rid of old magazines. Well, I couldn't do it without looking through them and clipping some recipes that I would like to try. I ended up with a great stack of recipes. I got about half of the magazines done. I will continue this mission throughout the week. I feel good about it!!

I'm about to clear off the table, and then tidy my desk. My desk is pretty much invisible. Missed yesterday- houseguests, stomach flu, business.

Even w/ a sick headache today, I'm an impulse cleaner.

Lying in bed trying to relieve my aching brow, I couldn't help but stare at the mountain in the corner of the room.

The mountain is now gone.

Funny how it takes a headache that leaves you incapable of doing anything else to make you really "look" at the corners and actually "do" something about them.

I tackled my sun room/computer room yesterday. This is supposed to be the "pretty" room where one would have nice wicker furniture and plants. Instead, I have two computers, printers, art supplies, stacks of paper, etc! Ahhh!!!

I couldn't take the chaos anymore and rearranged the whole thing. It is so much better. I have a lot more filing and sorting/throwing out to do, but it is already more peaceful. Dd 9 was disappointed because there still isn't a place for a vase of flowers or anything pretty. All in good time, I tell her.

Okay, I need to make my weekly hot spot smaller! Why did I think I was going to attack a whole room? Apparently, I didn't think that through.

So, I did some and I'm going to do a little more and be done with it!

I've really enjoyed reading everyones updates. This is fun! And I have thought about you all doing your thing which helps me do mine'too

Me again! I forgot to say that I didn't end up doing a whole room, just a little corner. I need the kids to haul out the trash.

Then I'm going to tidy the room a little.

I dug through my curriculum closet and got it at least LOOKING better.   I found a couple of books that I've been hunting for for the last month

Today I cleaned around the hearth for the woodstove -- it gets dirty over there fast.

So my declutter mission for the week (whenever i get to it , was to organize the prayer table. Ours is really a sofa table with two shelves underneath that is constantly a mess from my 1 year old grabbing books and me just throwing them back in haphazardly (sp?)

SOOO... I get sick on Wednesday and on Thursday when I go to "declutter" the table is spotless. Of course I inquire "Who cleaned up the prayer table?" My DH responds "It was ASh Wednesday, I figured it was needing a cleaning!" I was in complete shock. This is very out of character for my DH who is wonderful but NOT a cleaner.
Thought you would all get a laugh at how "my" declutter misson got done this week!

I got it done!! i went through all my magazine baskets and threw away the old ones, clipped a bunch of recipes and filed them in a folder. Now I only have the magazines for this year, some of which I have not read yet. As I was doing this I was thinking that I need to go back to no magazine subscriptions at all. I have more recipes to try that I can try in a year!

Anyhow, I feel accomplished
