Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So, I heard this morning that today is National Pie Day ( I told this to dh, who thought it was Pi day, he is a mathematician )   I usually make pudding on Fridays, but I am considering making a pie. I make a lot of things, but I have made few pies in my life What would be a good pie to make today? I don't have a tried and true crust recipe so I would need that as well. Thanks and happy pie day!

Beth

I always thought National Pie Day was on March 14, (3/14), so that it carried both meanings - the dessert and the math. Oh well, my family won't be disappointed when we celebrate both today and in March!

Peace,
Nancy

The two pi(e) days are different. It's been acouple years since we remembered to have a pie on this day. I did a search to pull up some other pie recipe threads (ignore the ones where the search engine pulled up "piece" since it contains the word "pie").

There are also 2 or 3 pie recipes in this Rabbit Trails thread.

I'm not sure if we will be able to make a pie today as we have a field trip later in the afternoon. We are going to see the Grand Campion Steer in the lobby of a fancy downtown hotel (big tradition is this cowpoke city of ours during the NAtional Western Stock Show). Anyway, I believe we will probably see some "cow pies" - that will probably be the extent of our pie sightings today.

Oh, and I just remembered the Loveliness of Pies Fair that Cindy hosted a while back.
