Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone ever made this? I buy one that I really like at Whole Foods but last night I was looking at the ingredients and realized it probably wouldn't be that hard to make something similar....I'm just intimidated to learn the process.

I don't know, but I've made homemade diaper ointment before, with a mixer (vaseline and cornstarch, in equal parts).

I wouldn't think that a belly balm would be that much different...

Here's a "sort of" recipe for an all-purpose balm that's really nice for just about everything: healing salve

I'm laughing because I just bookmarked that post of your this evening.       Do you think I could do it in a pot on the stove? I don't have a mini crockpot.

You can use a pot on the stove. When I make balms I use a pyrex measuring cup in a pot of water on the stove. You just have to watch it to make sure it doesn't evaporate on you.

I'll try to find the exact recipe later, but I made a mixture of beeswax, avocado oil, cocoa butter and a few drops of essential oil. I melted the beeswax and cocoa butter in a casserole dish lid over a pan of boiling water.

Beautifully rich and nourishing.
