Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It's a long shot, but I thought I would ask. My FIL years ago ordered a Nativity kit which had paper images for the Nativity figures, and then the patterns to cut out wood backgrounds for each figure, then the stable. It was originally on the family's porch each Christmas season, with special lighting to make the stable come alive.

Now we want to restore it and make it usable again in our house. The problem is there is water damage. The wood wasn't really wood, not particle board, but the other fabricated board (can't think of the name). And some of the images are dulled. Mary especially has some water damage so half of her is a darker color than the top half.

What would you do? Try to paint the original images to make the colors brighter? Leave as is? I was going to seal with acrylic so no more damage, perhaps painting the stable to a uniform brown before sealing it.

If I have a chance I'll take a photo and share it.
