Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Mary Ellen posted a pumpkin spice latte on her blog. Sounds good if I liked that drink...dh does, and I'll pass it on his way. I'll be very popular.

But I'm a little eager for something that tastes like a Starbucks mocha but made without a fancy machine. Any suggestions?

My mother would use coffee as the liquid for a packet of instant hot chocolate. Not exactly like a mochaccino, but very yummy and easy!

Jenn, I don't know if you'll like this (scroll down to halfway the page or so to skip the chatter) but it's worked for me and some people seemed to like it.

Another formula I use is grated/chopped dark chocolate -- my cheap favorite is Lindt 70% -- plus some heavy cream, microwaved 'til all the chocolate is melted, then mixed in with coffee... add milk/sugar/cinnamon/spirits if you like and top with whipped cream and a sprinkling of cocoa powder/cinnamon.

Oh, and when we're at hotels and such I always do what Lindsay just suggested. It works wonderfully!

Yeah, we liked it!!!!!! Now I just go to Panera's for the bagels.

I haven't tried Mary Ellen's recipe yet, I'll have to get to that before fall is over. I do love a pumpkin spice latte.....though I'm not a big pumpkin pie fan...

Hillbilly Housewife has a couple of mocha recipes I really like, and I quit buying Starbucks when I made them. Hmm...must have been good, no?
