Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Any ideas? These are people who have often helped us throughout the years.

My one aunt & uncle - he can't deal with scents of any kind, she is allergic to chocolate.

I also have another aunt & uncle I would like to send something too.

None of these people are Catholic (anymore). It has to be able to travel well - to the other side of the country.

I really don't want to just do gift cards, which is what I have done in the past.

They all have their own kids/grandkids etc.

Any ideas? I am at a loss.....

For older people who usually have all the "stuff" they need and then some I like sending consumables.. bread seems to be really well recieved around here.. a loaf of fresh made whole wheat bread and a small jar of homemade jelly makes a nice gift for instance. But I've also canned non-meat soups and sauces and made up a meal.. like soup and a biscuit mix or speghetti sauce and noodles and wine (inexpensive bottle if you know they drink).

But there's also stationary and candles (would unscented candles still smell too much?) flowers don't work with the one bothered by scents.. but one time when we knew dh's brothers were taking their mom out for dinner on her birthday.. my dh couldn't be there.. I got a corsage delivered to her for her to wear going out.

Recently my girls knitted my grandparents cotton washcloths. They could be used either in the kitchen or the bath.
