Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was thinking of making "a multitude of puppet characters" for my younger 2 for their christmas present. (I'm contemplating a "handmade" emphasis for this xmas! I always let grandma get the big exciting present anyway!). So I am on the lookout for a good puppet pattern----I would like something rather "simple" looking, not, well, gawdy or silly, which all the ones I have seen so far are. Maybe a bit Waldorfy, but not too hard, as my sewing skills are quite elementary! I will probably use thin wool felt (?). Anyway I have a feeling I'll end up just drawing one myself but just in case anyone knows of something like this out there.

I had an idea for a portable "doorway theater", using a spring rod with a little curtain, just thought I'd share this idea :)

On another note--I am completely blank as for a "handmade" gift for the teenage boy--!

I made one of these from Kwik Sew pattern a few years back. The kids loved it.

I just googled "kwik sew puppets" and found the pattern immediately. Very cute!! A little more elaborate than I was thinking--I was thinking maybe a "half skirt", or half the doorway, just a simple curtain I guess---

the puppets were nice too but also maybe a bit more than I want to get into. I am really not that great of a seamstress, tho always full of ideas of things to make
