Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am fortunate that one of my really good friends owns a blueberry farm nearby and yesterday she let some of us VIPs pick a few days before the general public . I picked 7 pounds yesterday and plan on going back every week for the same amount to stock up for winter. I have blueberry pancakes, muffins and waffles down to a science, but have not attempted pie yet. Every time I have tried to make my own pie filling, it comes out really runny. Does anyone have a foolproof, knock-em-dead blueberry pie recipe? I'd love to try it if you do! Thanks!

Blessings,
Betsie

I'd love to have it! I hadn't thought of cobbler yet. Thanks!

Ok, this is the BEST blueberry cobbler ever.

Preheat oven to 350. Put 1 stick of butter into a 9x9 glass dish. Melt it in the oven.

Meanwhile, toss 2 c blueberries with a little sugar, set aside.

In another bowl mix together:
1 c flour
1 c sugar
1 tsp baking powder
a little lemon peel
some nutmeg
1 c milk
about 1 tsp vanilla

Pour batter over melted butter and cover with fruit. Bake about an hour until the top is golden brown. Serve hot or warm or room temperature with heavy cream or vanilla ice cream. My husband likes it with ice cream. I prefer to drizzle mine with cream. YUM!
