I used fresh. The kids had oranges for snack today and we just used the peel from that.

This was great fun to do- the kids loved cutting pine needles. Plus, I called it the craft for the Feast day of Our Lady of Altagracia, since we ate oranges and used the peels for our project. It tied in perfectly with the "Gift of Gracias" book. Thank you!

For those who were concerned about mildew,I opened one of ours up today and the peels are drying out nicely. No mold or mildew in sight! I have one that Superboy made sitting right here and it makes my little computer nook smell so nice!
