Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I went into Gap Kids a couple of weeks ago and their Christmas tree was decorated with simple yarn balls. I imagine they are just styrofoam balls covered in yarn. It looked so cute. I don't think I have enough yarn scraps to do it this year, but I thought Mary certainly would!

Mary M or Mary G?

Are these the ones that are just wrapped? Another way you could do it (using less yarn) is to soak the yarn in gluey-water and wrap around a ballon .... pop when the yarn is dry (about 24hrs later) -- this can also work with string but yarn makes a more substantial ball...

Very cool idea for wrapping around styrofoam ... we could definitely do this here!

I was specifically thinking you
I didn't take a close look at how it was done, but it was such a simple and sweet idea, I had to pass it on.

Thanks for the great idea Jennifer.

And Mary, I think we will try the gluey yarn balloons. We have it in our handy homemade decorations book, and it is one of the ones we haven't tried

ONLY 5 bins!!!!! ... at one point, I had the back of the closet PACKED with yarn to work on ... that's dwindled a bit, so maybe I should go order some more????

Do you mean Im not the only one with a fabric/yarn store in my basement?????
I thought I had a problem, but now that I see Im in such good company, I will write it off simply as an...eccentricity.

Heather, not so much eccentric as a "uniqueness" factor!
