Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Great ideas! I love the sunflower house instructions.

Here's one of mine: I'm sewing Christmas (cloth) napkins to put in a basket with some goodies. I will give them out Dec. 1st so the families can enjoy using them all month. Some goodie ideas are: chips with dip mixes; homemade bread and spaghetti sauce; tea and coffee mixes, with chocolate spoons; popcorn and a movie.

We are also going to make some more marshmallow guns and send them to cousins with a couple of bags of marshmallows. Inexpensive, easy, and fun .

Liz, I'd love to know how you make marshmallow guns!

In August, we made them when DH was out of town. You can see them at my blog mavmama.blogspot.com way back on an early page. They are made with 1/2" pvc pipe. We actually spent as much on the pipe cutter as we did on the darn pipe! But, now we have it and they are cheap to make ($19 for the cutter and enough pipe for 5 guns).

BTW, jsut the other day, I found a dried up marshmallow in the living room--hmmmm....maybe I'm not such a great housekeeper

I was searching for homemade gift ideas the other day and found one that said, "pretty jar full of Christmas candy." I was thinking about that, and thought that for a handful of family friends, we could do a Rosary Candy jar. Maybe take a week and say a rosary a night per family and put in, say, 53 chocolate kisses to represent the Hail Marys, 6 something else for Our Fathers, something big for the Creed and the Salve, etc. Kind of like the "spiritual bouquet," but in candy. Add some pretty ribbon and a card explaining, and the family gets not only tasty Christmas candy but also a tangible way to see your prayers for them. Plus I'm thinking that with my little ones, it gives them a way to participate in the rosary, by putting in the candy w/ each prayer of the rosary.

OH another thing! I've never done this, but it was a *great* homemade gift my aunt gave me - deer corn warmers. You just sew up a rectangle, fill it with deer corn (probably from a feed store?) and then you can pop them in the microwave for a few minutes to get hot (the deer corn doesn't pop like popcorn, just stays heated up). They are great in lieu of a heating pad, or for sore muscles, or to put at the bottom of the bed to warm up your feet on a cold night. The other thing I like them for is to just snuggle up with a good book, a blanket, and the deer corn warmer! The ones my aunt made us are all different sizes and beautiful fabric!
