I'm the least crafty person I know!
I get ideas from this forum, from alot of the blogs of the fabulous members here, and from HGTV  . I have several books that alot of the women here recommend, but I forget to look in them until after the fact!

Jackie -- obviously the BEST source is right here  ; that aside, there are some wonderful craft magazines out there and Martha Stewart's always has great craft ideas. Some of the traditional ladies magazines (Woman's Day, Family Circle, etc) put out holiday-specific special issues but over the past couple of years I've been disappointed as much of what they have in there is to be bought (I guess folks don't have time to really craft anymore -- except us "lazy" homeschoolers, huh  ).
Go to the library and browse around the shelves (about 746 should be the right dewey decimal) -- check both the juvenile section and the adult; many of the "kids" books are better written and illustrated than the adult ones.

Jackie, I get craft ideas from all over! Certainly this board and all the blogs are a wonderful resource for projects, especially liturgical ones. If I ever have a subject we're studying or an event we're celebrating, I know I can ask here and come away with loads of suggestions! 
Like Mary, I also like Martha Stewart Living for crafts. Her website has great ideas too. Martha's Kids was perhaps the most outstanding children's craft magazine I've ever seen. Unfortunately they stopped publishing it.  I've kept every issue, though, and turn to them again and again for ideas. (Maybe they're available on e-bay?) Other craft-oriented magazines I like are Family Fun and Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion.
Books I like:
The Big Book of Catholic Customs and Traditions for Children's Faith Formation
The Catholic Parent's Book of Feasts
Catholic Traditions in the Home and Classroom
All Year Round
Earthways
I could name several more, but I'll stop there!

Oh, I definitely always come here first for ideas. But since I can not always be here I wanted a handy resource book to have on hand to inspire me!!!!

Mary, I have on hold some books from the library (and a DVD on knitting!) but love having a permanent resource at my fingertips.

I like Martha Stewart and Family Fun myself. But also am known to get inspired in the craft store - like Alice, or just in looking at other crafts in various places. I always try to "keep my eyes open" where ever we are.

It's lots of fun to take an hour or so every so often and walk one of the chain craft stores -- like Hobby Lobby or Jo-ann's. Without kids if possible  .
And just look at ALL the aisles -- just familiarize yourself with what's there, what they're pushing, what they're getting rid of .... so many of these things can be used for what is not necessarily their original purpose -- my 7 yod loves to buy the wood pieces -- not to paint but to use for her dolls. We've gotten the fake flowers, taken the petals off and used the petals as fairy skirts. We've snagged up remainder ribbons or odd buttons and used them for collages or doll clothes or decorating armor.
Sometimes it's just fun to find a new product -- fabric markers or "stain glass" paint -- and bring it home and play ...

I love to walk the hobby stores but they are all about a 35-45 minute drive from me. And most of the time it is a run in and out trip because when I go to the city I have a list of places I need to go gotta get the most out of each trip to save on time and GAS! But hopefully when June gets here I will have some spare time to lay back and thumb thru books for ideas and I thought maybe there was some stand bys that you all keep on yourshelf to refresh yourself on ideas.
Now Mary if the DVD works out and I learn how to knit I will get back with you for those titles!!
When I was young my sister and I got to go to the craft store each week and pick up something to do for the week. (this was during summer break) We did these dolls made with sequines and styrofoam it all came in a kit, does anyone else remember these?? They are still on shelves in my mother's house! I loved doing those dolls but I can't seem to find anything like that for my girls.
You know Alice I always say a prayer to my Guardian Angel before I go into a store when I am on the look out for something. My Angel has helped me find many things. I ALWAYS do this when I am going into a thrift store or an Antique store and I am looking for old catholic books. Boy, has my Angel led me to some wonderful old books!

gonna sound wierd but most often I think it'd from God My saint posters ,bath salts , dolls , etc. just popped into my head I've an idea that when we go to MX ds 17 will learn how to make huraches and sell Jesus sandles to catholic men I get all kinds of crazy creative ideas like that . ideas that somehow always have a God inspired influence . Oh one of my biggest one is dd and her friend have a place to teach young pregnant mums about parenting etc.and to sew saint dolls and run a greenhouse
I dream like this all the time thats why God gave me my very practical realistic dh
