I don't want to start any "hot topics" but I am trying to figure out what to do for my 16 month dd. She is way behind in her vaccinations (has not had any since 2 months of age) and I am just not sure what I need to do...if you could PM me with thoughts, etc that would be great....we have vaccinated our older children but I am just not feeling right about it. I had her at the dr. yesterday because she was terribly sick (first time she was sick yet) and the nurse practitioner was all over me chastizing me ..."she has absolutely NO immunity...she is so behind...if you had had her in for her regular checkups, we'd have a current weight on her and could tell if she is dehydrated....you need to get her in right away and start catching her up on those vaccs...etc"

I have avoided it all til now, but feel I need to decide what we are going to do. To be honest, I am not even sure if the others are up to date on all their shots.....seems something new comes out each year.


Is this a cut and dried issue and I just missed the explanation? I have looked at cogforlife and see that I could get some substitutes and will go ahead and try that, but what do I do about the others?

I know this could be a can of worms, but I really don't know who else to ask without worrying about the agenda behind their answers.

it's not cut and dried.. it's a matter or risk.. what risks you and your dh are most comfortable with. Because there's risks to getting them and risks to not getting them. And I don't think ANYONE including (especially?) the government should be mandating what risks you take on.

In addition to the risks Hollee, some of the vaccinations use fetal cell lines from aborted babies. That COG for life link is a good one for checking that out.
