I've had thin hair since the birth of my first child. It will get thicker during pregnancy but is thin again by 6 weeks post-partum. My doctor says that the only thing to do is to try to go on the pill (she doesn't "get it"). Does anyone have any suggestions? My MIL mentioned my thin hair over Christmas so people are noticing .

I had the same problem after my last pregnancy. The recommendations I was given were:

- cut your hair to strengthen it - I refused to do this

- do not tie hair back tightly or braid it - both of which I do

- there is a vitamin supplement for healthy hair with B Vits and Biotin and something else - cannot recall the name - Nature's Plus or Nature's Way - I took it for a while

- Massage head with coconut oil and take it internally too - I did for a while - but cannot tolerate the smell with morning sickness

I used to worry about it a lot - especially when washing my hair and seeing it coming out in clumps - now I have just stopped thinking about it.
