I had Dr. give my kids flumist. 9 year old has the sniffles from it. ANyone else here get that reaction. From what I read it is normal. I was just wondering how long the sniffles will last? Noting his reaction - I think I am going to get the shot not the mist.

My kids had it the past two years, not so far this year. They never had reactions like that. I get it for my dd as she had a bad reaction to the shot when she was younger and so far with the mist has done really well. We all had a really bad case of the swine flu a few years ago, she ended up in the ER, so we have gotten immunized since then (no shots that year).

My dc have gotten it, same with dh. They had runny noses, it went away in a day or two, it's pretty common. I haven't had the mist because of pregnancy.

Our baby got the flu the year of swine flu outbreak also, he was 4mo it was such a difficult time, he was very sick. I lost a week's sleep. It was terrible to see him suffer like that. We had all been immunized but him, because he was too young. It just took contact with one afternoon sledding with another family.
