Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

*A medical doctor is involved, I'm just looking for resources and natural avenues to complement.

My dh's bp has risen to the high end of pre-hypertension, borderline, and doc is talking meds if it does not lower. Now, his bp has always been on the high side of normal since he was a kid, but he is figuring the rise is due to weight gain and stress. My question is, can you point me to quality resources and diets that address lowering bp? There are so many sites out there, but I trust you ladies more than random surfing.

Bananas and walking.       That's what I did during my last 2 pregnancies b/c of pre-eclampsia in 2nd preg. and my BP never got high at all. Bananas have a lot of potassium and walking...well, the benefits to that are amazing and would help with his weight and stress. Even 10 min at lunch or before work or after. Anyone can squeeze in 10 min even if it's super hot or super cold, you can go to the grocery store and walk around for 10 min. Good luck!

vitamin C can also help and B-complex vitamins of course help with the stress

I think just about any diet that he can stay with and lose some weight will help. I would actually make the fewest changes possible.. like taking a decent lunch instead of buying a less healthy lunch.

Some will say low fat.. some will say low carbs etc. But often you can look at what you're doing now and pinpoint just one or two areas that if you change you'll see changes.. so adding in walking and subtracting something like sodas (drinking water instead) might be all that's needed to see weight loss.
