Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dear friend just had a c-section after an excruciatingly long labour. She is SO bloated and has tons of swelling in her legs- but it is the bloating causing so much pain.

Does anyone have any good remedies for this? It is so hard to see her in all of this pain

When I had mine, the nurses had me walk (ouch) around the ward with a support "cushion" (it was not very cushiony) held against my incision area. This was not a fun process, but it did bring down the bloating.

And, put her feet up when she's sitting or horizontal. That helped quite a bit. I get bloated each and every time. It's not pleasant.

I had this, too, each time. Walking helped, rocking...and then lots of fluids. Start up with the prune juice which really helped me.

Walking, fluids, no carbonation, no straws
