I have a very old fashion cultural mother. She always has some home made remedy for every ailment. For the last two weeks my entire family has been suffering from a really bad cough. It started out with fever and then just an awful cough that lingers.

All the doctor could do was give us cough suppressant which really has done nothing. So I decided to ask my moms advice. She said have some Oregano tea. I didn't look it up before trying but just decided to do it anyway. I've had to cups of it in the last few days and can you believe it works!! My throat feels so much better already and the cough has subsided and doesn't hurt when I cough anymore.

So this morning I woke up and googled it before I give to the kids. I found it in several places, here's an example: Oregano Tea

Who knew? I my mom!!

I'll have to tuck that tidbit into my brains.. I know you can use lemon and honey for a sore throat and it helps a cough but it doesn't last long.. usually only helps while you're sipping it.

But that hot lemonade type drink tastes and feels so good with your basic headcold and/or sore throat.

I guess I should do some checking on oregano
