Has anyone done this before? My dd went through this at the allergist's office 2 weeks ago. She was monitored for about 4 hours in office while gradually eating up to 2 teaspoons with no reactions. The doctor said if she was still fine at the end of the day, with me monitoring her at home and him checking with me at the end of the day, that she was not allergic any longer. Now, after eating it daily for almost 2 weeks, she has a bumpy rash in various places on her body. She has no other symptoms. I stopped the pb two days ago and today I am waiting for a call back from the doctor. I know with myself, being gluten sensitive (not an allergy but still...)that it can take days for my skin to react with a rash after accidentally ingesting it. I am not so sure I trust this one day challenge....any thoughts?

Is this rash itchy? My son had a similar experience, with an oral challenge. He had some symptoms the day of, but they didn't progress, so they said to watch and be conservative.

little over 2 weeks he had systemic reaction. This was like hives, very itchy, but small bumps instead of large wheals.

Thanks, Jenn. Yes, it is itchy, small bumps. The nurse called and said it is not life threatening but that her body is probably getting used to peanut butter again. She hasn't had any since 2007 and never had had a reaction, just blood tests that indicated allergy. The dr. had initially told us to have her eat it several times a week but now says at least twice a month. Is your son eating it at all now?

My son was extremely itchy. Our doctors said to go back to total avoidance. In their diagnosis they said this was a delayed but acute systemic reaction.
