Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Six months after dd #5 was born I went in for a physcial. It had been a while since I had everything checked. I knew my cholesterol would be a little high because if was a little high when I was 25, single, worked out and ate really well. So, five pregnancies and 11 years later, I wasn't expecting a great number.

Well, it was 280 !! My "bad" cholesterol was 199!!! So right after Thanksgiving I went totally vegan. I read a lot and decided this was probably the only way to get it down without drugs. Saturday my DH and I were at Sam's and they were doing health screenings. I was curious if it had come down at all since I had really changed my eating and had them check. It was 282 .

So I come home totally depressed but thought back and remebered that I had wondered when they checked it before if nursing could have an impact on your total. So after checking Google I find out that back in 1989 they recommended not even checking lactating women because it can range from 200 to 325. I don't even think I'm going back for a recheck until after she's weaned.

Has anyone had it checked while nursing and then later aftering weaning? Did it come down?

Because I had a recheck done while pregnant and the Dr commented on about the likely hood it would be sky high ...mine actually dropped 40 pts Now I am not sure I want to recheck after I am done nursing My midwife said my body just loves being pregnant Annie
