Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd9 has been waking up with headaches every day for over 3 weeks. I'm taking her to the doctor today, but has anyone had experience with this? What could be the causes of constant headaches?

Sinus problems is one possibility

another would be a trigger that causes headaches.. I developed a reaction to caffiene and had a long time when I was having constant headaches including waking up with them until I figured out that I couldn't have caffiene (I was in college and Pepsi and Coke were having "price wars" so we were drinking colas every day)

I had that happen at that age and it was allergies. Once we got those under control, they stopped.

Allergies/sinus issues was my first thought too. That happened to me until I figured it out and was able to work with it. Sending up prayers!

What kind of allergies might I be on the lookout for?

The doc said there were no red flags. So, just keep an eye on them watching for certain things. I took her in for a layered haircut, b/c I remember the hairdresser saying that she used to get headaches due to her thick long hair. I also took her in to a massage therapist. Her neck was so tense! She had a bath with sea salt and baking soda. Hopefully we'll also be replacing her mattress soon, as I know this current one seems to be causing back pain.

Well let's see.. dust, mold, damp, weather changes (barametric pressure), my mom gets a sinus infection whenever they try and use the dehumidifier.. so lack of humidity or even too much humidity, what type of heat do you use? perhaps an allergy to a type of wood if you use wood heat, or just smoke in general.. a chiropractor might be a good idea, many of them are very gentle.. I wouldn't want someone who would wrench her neck around but someone gentle could figure out if maybe her neck is out and causing problems.. oh! does she wear glasses? even if not I'd get her eyes checked.

Also try an OTC allergy remedy.. I always have the best luck with a combined type a decongestant and antihistamine..

oh and pineapple helps reduce soft tissue swelling even of the sinuses so it might help too.

I just wanted to add that you should also check to make sure she is drinking enough water. I had very severe headaches when I was younger and we did figure out I was very allergic to certain foods but it really helped when I was drinking copious of water.

Many blessings for your little girl. I know how it feels and its just horrible to go though at such a young age.

My ds (almost 8) has been complaining about hedaches for the last week or so, I just thought it was the weather as it has been getting quite warm here now and I know he isn't drinking enough, but I didn't think it could be allergy related. His asthma has flared up since about the same time (must be allergy triggered too) and he was fine during all the winter. I'm glad I read this post because I was starting to worry.
